Construction on Chelsea Beacon has begun

Early in July, Governor Hochul announced that construction on Chelsea Beacon has begun. Set in the heart of West Chelsea, the former Bayview Correctional Facility will transform into a welcoming affordable housing community and hub, including at least 79 units of reentry housing for older adults and those who identify as LGBTQIA+. 

Osborne will provide comprehensive services to these residents, expanding on our experience at Marcus Garvey Supportive Housing and the Rise in Brooklyn, and our success supporting over 150 residents at Fulton Community Reentry Center in their journeys from transitional to permanent housing. We are grateful to Governor Hochul, NYS Homes and Community Renewal, and Empire State Development for this opportunity, and look forward to seeing more New Yorkers returning from incarceration build lives of meaning and contribution.
